Position Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Sea Freight Estimator to join our team. This role is pivotal in analyzing customer requirements, determining competitive pricing, and preparing accurate quotations for sea freight shipments. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our sales efforts, maximizing profitability, and maintaining high standards of service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quotation Preparation:

•    Analyze customer inquiries and shipping requirements to develop detailed and competitive sea freight quotations.
•    Calculate freight rates, surcharges, and ancillary charges based on shipment specifications, market conditions, and carrier rates.
•    Ensure accuracy and completeness of quotations while adhering to company pricing guidelines and profitability targets.

2. Cost Analysis and Pricing Strategy:

•    Conduct comprehensive cost analysis to determine optimal routing and transportation options for sea freight shipments.
•    Monitor market trends, carrier rates, and fuel surcharges to adjust pricing strategies and maintain competitiveness.
•    Collaborate with sales and management teams to develop pricing strategies that balance profitability with customer satisfaction.

3. Customer Communication:

•    Interact with customers to understand their shipping requirements, address inquiries, and provide expert advice on sea freight services.
•    Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, serving as a trusted advisor and ensuring satisfaction throughout the quotation process.
•    Negotiate pricing and contract terms as necessary to secure business and meet customer expectations.

4. Bid Management:

•    Manage the bid process for sea freight contracts and tenders, coordinating with internal stakeholders to develop competitive proposals.
•    Prepare and submit timely and accurate bids, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and deadlines.
•    Review and analyze contract terms and conditions to mitigate risks and maximize profitability.

5. Performance Analysis:

•    Monitor and analyze the performance of sea freight quotations and pricing strategies, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
•    Generate reports and insights on quotation activity, pricing trends, and competitive positioning to support strategic decision-making.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and enhancements as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Qualifications in Business, Logistics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in sea freight pricing and estimation within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
• In-depth knowledge of sea freight operations, including carrier rates, vessel capacities, and shipping routes.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret data and perform cost analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications for pricing and quotation management.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
